Master Decision-Making Under Pressure: Combat-Tested Leadership Strategies from a U.S. Air Force Pilot That Help Business Teams Thrive in Uncertainty

I spent more than two decades leading teams to expect the unexpected and avoid potential disasters as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. Supporting operations in both peacetime and combat, the real-life lessons I learned in the cockpit offer valuable leadership insights for CEOs, executives, and their teams as they navigate constantly changing markets in today's competitive business environment. My worldwide missions have provided wisdom that helps individuals become the effective and inspiring leaders they aspire to be.

Raised on a small farm in Friday Harbor on San Juan Island, Washington, I made the decision to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy. Recruited to play football, I became the first person from my county to attend a military service academy.

I flew missions to all seven continents, including leading a highly classified airlift program. These experiences often required time-critical solutions and the ability to adapt to environments with incomplete information, making decisions with global ramifications.

Today, I translate these high-stakes leadership experiences into actionable insights for business leaders facing their own mission-critical challenges. I focus on crisis leadership, decision-making under pressure, and building resilient teams.

As a highly trusted strategist and change agent, I bring compelling visions to life by speaking passionately, thinking strategically, planning tactically, and solving creatively. I am relentlessly focused on customer needs, unleashing innovative ideas to deliver optimal value and navigating through conflict to achieve partnership. I am a versatile communicator with technical acumen and a global perspective.

My consulting clients include Canada Post, Perkins Coie, Lincare, Stark Aerospace, Danone North America, and Tasteful Selections, among others. I have helped clients across the business spectrum generate millions in additional revenue and streamline processes by 75-90%. Currently, I live outside of Seattle, Washington with my wife of 24 years, where we homeschool our two daughters and raise guide dogs for the blind.
