Lorie Marsh
Lorie has 25 years of experience as a serial entrepreneur, indie filmmaker, and story developer. She has worked as a creative producer, writer, developmental editor, director, and script consultant on all kinds of content: narrative films, documentary films, screenplays, novels, plays, websites, educational programs, and multi-platform storyworlds.
At the end of her 40s, the career path Lorie had forged over two decades came to an undeniable dead-end. She faced the Void; she didn't know what to do next. What would feel purposeful? What would make use of her interests and experiences, and not feel like a repeat?
Lorie spent decades intuiting stories and patterns from disparate piece-parts to guide writers, filmmakers, multidisciplinary creatives, and fellow entrepreneurs to express their authentic voices in their stories and actions.
Facing her own crossroad, she realized she could tap into her choices by examining her life as the epic story it is. She would put herself through the types of questions she'd always put to her clients and collaborators.
- Who is your Hero?
- What's your Hero's Tragic Flaw?
- What does your Hero Want?
- What motivates your Hero?
The kicker is, we are each Hero AND Author of our life stories.
Lorie used her expertise in storytelling to access a more objective perspective about her career dead-end, as well as what beckoned beyond. In doing so, she created a shareable framework for others to use, as well.
Today, Lorie describes her Hero self as a Compulsive Creative, mentally restless and easily distractible. Depression and anxiety make occasional visits to her psyche, and she wears her "Author hat" to frame her stories about them. Viewing herself as both Hero and Author of her life story has opened up a wider view of her choices and purpose.
Lorie prods, guides, and inspires audiences to mine their own life stories for access to their own inner wisdom and transformative perspective adjustments. She speaks to and is fascinated by storytelling, brain and consciousness science, authentic soul expression, and the power of choice.
Her motto is: "Change your story, transform your life! You have a superpower, and it is Choice."
