Susan Koeppen is the consumer correspondent for CBS News’ The Early Show.

Previously, Koeppen was a consumer reporter and weekend morning anchor for WTAE-TV Pittsburgh (2000-04). Before that, she was an anchor/reporter at WHEC-TV Rochester, N.Y.; an anchor/reporter at WKTV-TV Utica, N.Y.; and a reporter at WNYT-TV Albany.

The Emmy Award-winning reporter is also the recipient of two Gracie Allen Awards from the American Women in Radio and Television. Koeppen has been honored by the Associated Press for general excellence in reporting and best local documentary and received the United Nations Association of Rochester International Media Award.

In April 2006, Koeppen and CBS News producer Robert Powell were honored with the Home Safety Council Beacon Award for their reporting on critical consumer topics, and for raising awareness of home safety issues during the preceding year. The Beacon Award recognizes members of the media whose reporting provided accurate and educational information to shine a light on the serious problem of home-related injuries in America.

Koeppen was born in Albany, N.Y. She was graduated in 1994 from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications with a degree in broadcast journalism. She enjoys travel and has been to every continent except Antarctica.
